The Smell of the Sinner

I use too live up north, and all the beautiful clothes in the worlds couldn’t cover -up the stain.
The stain of sin and the closet sinners who came to church with the smell.
I remember I walked in to a church one Sunday and the eyes felt as if they looked through me.
I don’t understand this thing about dress attire in some churches.
Is it because they don’t want poor people in their churches.
They are not given churches, they are getting churches.
Just the fact I wrote this means somewhere there is a church that doesn’t want regular people in their church.
To me that means that for some the meaning of Christianity has been replaced with privilege, and if you don’t have the privilege to be able to go to those places that sell those church suits and dresses, that store that sells those 500.00 suits for men, made special for church. You are not wanted in that church.
So we are suppose to go without food to have a new suit on Sunday. Some one is missing the meaning of Christianity.
To me it means go as you are until you feel, until you see, that which God has in store for you in his Christian society.
I know my first real time in a church that didn’t care what I wore, was in prison.
Then when I came out it was hard to find a church that didn’t stare until I walked out.
I found! that church can be a cold place. In some cases as cold as a prison cell.
What I had to understand is that those same people in church on Sunday are just human beings.
People who were raised up in church. So that meant they go to church.
And display all those things that should be replaced with faith.
I found out quick being in church doesn’t mean you are a Christian.
Some people go to dress up, and that’s the only reason.
Is to have a place to go and out do the other best dressed sinner.
Then one day I saw a Pastor on TV. Call for one Sunday as a dress down Sunday.
So that meant 1 Sunday out the month you didn’t need the 500.00 suit, but being as competitive as those kind of people are. Meant that dress down Sunday would be just as expensive.
Just think a church, a house of God. And all they cared about was what each other wore to church.
Yes the drug dealers came to church, the whores, the robbers, the abusers.
They all came to church and about 7pm they were back on their corner. The drug dealers on their corners, the whores on there’s. And that Monday the robber robbed.
It was as if faith was in a thick box and only released when it was suitable to the sinner.
Oh! Its different for me today I’m a Christian that is comfortable with being a Christian.
And the only one who ask me for anything is God. Today I’m responsible for what I do and God takes care of the other part.
He doesn’t ask me to strain myself by buying a new suit. Before I know he has brought the way for me.
To do the best I can do. When its God we worship instead of the pastors BMW, their 1000.00 suit, and the jewelry that almost blind the sinner from the pulpit. I find faith taste better. We wear tennis shoes, tee shirts, flip flops, shorts. We come to church to worship not a fashion show. Thank You God..
